N-Methylepinephrin

N-Methylepinephrin, auch bekannt als Metaraminol, ist eine synthetische sympathomimetische Amin, die hauptsächlich als vasopressorisches Mittel wirkt. Es zeichnet sich durch seine strukturelle Ähnlichkeit mit Epinephrin aus und weist eine Methylgruppe auf, die am Stickstoffatom gebunden ist. Diese Modifikation erhöht seine Selektivität für Alpha-Adrenozeptoren, was es effektiv macht, um den Gefäßwiderstand und den Blutdruck zu erhöhen. N-Methylepinephrin wird typischerweise in klinischen Umgebungen zur Behandlung von Hypotonie eingesetzt, insbesondere während der Anästhesie oder in Schockfällen. Die Substanz ist in Wasser löslich und zeigt ein relativ stabiles Profil unter physiologischen Bedingungen.
