Beschreibung:
1,4-Piperazindiethansulfonsäure, allgemein bekannt als PIPES, ist ein Pufferagent, der häufig in der biologischen und biochemischen Forschung verwendet wird. Es handelt sich um eine zwitterionische Verbindung, was bedeutet, dass sie sowohl positive als auch negative Ladungen enthält, was es ihr ermöglicht, einen stabilen pH-Wert in Lösung aufrechtzuerhalten.
