It has been shown to inhibit erythropoiesis in vivo and in vitro by inhibiting the activation of erythroid progenitors. 3-(3-Acetylbenzenesulfonamido)propanoic acid is an activator of the vasopressin receptor. It can be used as a research tool for studying protein interactions, and is also used to prepare antibodies against the vasopressin receptor.
