Beschreibung:Lindan, mit der CAS-Nummer 58-89-9, ist eine organochlorierte Verbindung, die hauptsächlich als Pestizid und Insektizid bekannt ist. Es handelt sich um einen farblosen bis weißen kristallinen Feststoff mit einem charakteristischen Geruch. Lindan ist ein zyklisches Isomer von Hexachlorcyclohexan und besteht aus sechs Chloratomen, die an einem Cyclohexanring gebunden sind. Seine chemische Formel ist C6H6Cl6. Lindan ist lipophil, was bedeutet, dass es eine hohe Affinität zu Fetten hat, was zu einer Bioakkumulation in lebenden Organismen führen kann. Es wurde in der Landwirtschaft zur Bekämpfung von Schädlingen und in der Medizin zur Behandlung von Läusen und Krätze eingesetzt.
