Vindesinsulfat ist ein synthetisches Vinca-Alkaloid, das aus der Vinca-Pflanze gewonnen wird und speziell zur Behandlung von Krebs eingesetzt wird. Es wirkt hauptsächlich als antineoplastisches Mittel, indem es die Zellteilung hemmt, indem es die Bildung des mitotischen Spindels während der Zellteilung stört, was letztendlich zur Apoptose in schnell teilenden Krebszellen führt. Die Verbindung zeichnet sich durch ihre Fähigkeit aus, an Tubulin zu binden und die für die Bildung von Mikrotubuli notwendige Polymerisation zu verhindern. Vindesinsulfat wird typischerweise intravenös verabreicht und ist bekannt für seine Wirksamkeit gegen verschiedene Krebsarten, einschließlich Lymphomen und soliden Tumoren. Seine chemische Struktur umfasst ein komplexes Ringsystem, das zu seiner biologischen Aktivität beiträgt.
