CAS:2-Nitrobenzonitrile is a nitro compound that has been shown to inhibit activin and copper chloride. It is also used as a reagent in organic synthesis, as well as in the structural elucidation of organic compounds. 2-Nitrobenzonitrile is a colorless liquid with a melting point of -7°C and boiling point of 194°C. The functional theory for this compound is based on the N=N bond between the two nitro groups, which are separated by one carbon atom. The C1-6 alkyl group attached to the nitrogen atom prevents rotation about the N=N bond, so that it can only rotate about the carbon-nitrogen bond. This causes an electron density buildup around the C1-6 alkyl group, which results in a vibrational frequency of 700 cm-1.
2-Nitrobenzonitrile has been found to be an effective inhibitor of autoimmune diseases such as MS, rFormel:C7H4N2O2Reinheit:Min. 95%Molekulargewicht:148.12 g/mol
