Isosorbide dinitrate is a drug that belongs to the class of nitrates. It is used in the treatment of angina pectoris, as well as congestive heart failure and chronic heart failure. Isosorbide dinitrate has been shown to cause caspase-independent cell death in human leukemia cells and breast cancer cells.
