Iohexol ist ein nichtionisches, wasserlösliches Kontrastmittel, das häufig in der medizinischen Bildgebung verwendet wird, insbesondere bei Computertomographien (CT) und Angiographien. Es gehört zur Klasse der jodhaltigen Kontrastmittel, die die Sichtbarkeit interner Strukturen in der radiografischen Bildgebung verbessern. Iohexol hat eine chemische Formel, die Jod enthält, welches für seine Radiopazität verantwortlich ist und es ihm ermöglicht, Röntgenstrahlen effektiv zu absorbieren.
