It also has the ability to bind to glycan, a sugar molecule on the surface of cells. The binding of 3-aminophenylboronic acid hemisulphate induces morphogenetic protein (MP) secretion, which leads to cell death. This compound is used as an adjuvant in vaccines and also as a research reagent for studying protein sequences and antigen/antibody interactions.
