CAS:Amisulpride N-oxide is a drug that belongs to the group of atypical antipsychotics. It is metabolized in the liver to form sulpiride, which is a potent dopamine D2 antagonist. Amisulpride N-oxide has been shown to be effective for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and has been shown to produce fewer extrapyramidal side effects than other antipsychotic drugs. It also has been found to be effective against wastewater bacteria, with an efficacy rate of 99%. Amisulpride N-oxide can be activated by ozone (O3) or UV light and used as a disinfectant in water systems.
