CAS:Fmoc-Glu(OtBu)-OH is an amino acid that is used in the synthesis of peptides and proteins. It is a hydrophilic, non-polar amino acid with a hydroxyl group at its carboxy terminus. This substance has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and has been used for the development of monoclonal antibodies. Fmoc-Glu(OtBu)-OH has also been shown to have pharmacokinetic properties that are different from other amino acids such as L-lysine, which may be due to its hydrophilic interactions with plasma proteins. This compound is also toxic, as shown by studies on rats where it was found to cause liver damage at high doses.
