TRH-betaNA
CAS:TRH-betaNA is a peptide that is found in the brain and released by the hypothalamus. It binds to thyrotropin-releasing hormone receptors on neurons in the brain, causing it to release thyrotropin. It also binds to neuroendocrine cells in the anterior pituitary gland and stimulates the production of thyroid hormones. TRH-betaNA is metabolized by endopeptidases, which are enzymes that break down proteins into smaller chains of amino acids. The enzyme metalloenzyme is involved in this process, although its exact function is unknown.

CAS:A sensitive and highly specific substrate for a rapid assay of rat brain TRH-deamidating enzyme (prolyl endopeptidase). TRH-βNA is also hydrolyzed by another TRH-degrading enzyme, pyroglutamyl peptidase II (thyroliberinase), which seems to play a key role in terminating the biological activity of neuronally released TRH.
