Palladium ist ein seltener, silberweißer Metall, das zur Platin-Gruppe der Elemente gehört und durch seinen hohen Schmelzpunkt, seine hervorragende Korrosionsbeständigkeit und katalytischen Eigenschaften gekennzeichnet ist. Es hat die Ordnungszahl 46 und wird durch das Symbol "Pd" dargestellt. Palladium ist bekannt für seine Fähigkeit, Wasserstoff zu absorbieren, was es in verschiedenen Anwendungen, einschließlich Wasserstoffspeicherung und -reinigung, wertvoll macht.
