Beschreibung:

Methansulfonsäure (MSA), mit der CAS-Nummer 75-75-2, ist eine farb- und geruchlos Flüssigkeit, die hoch wasserlöslich und in polaren organischen Lösungsmitteln löslich ist. Es ist eine starke Säure, die sich durch ihre Fähigkeit auszeichnet, Protonen (H⁺-Ionen) leicht abzugeben, was sie zu einem nützlichen Reagenz in verschiedenen chemischen Reaktionen macht. MSA hat einen relativ niedrigen Siedepunkt und ist unter normalen Bedingungen stabil, kann jedoch bei erhöhten Temperaturen zerfallen.
