Beschreibung:
Tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethan, allgemein bekannt als Tris, ist eine organische Verbindung mit der chemischen Formel C4H11NO3. Es ist ein weißes kristallines Feststoff, das hochgradig in Wasser löslich ist, was es zu einem effektiven Pufferagenten in biochemischen und molekularbiologischen Anwendungen macht. Tris hat einen pKa-Wert von etwa 8,1, der es ihm ermöglicht, einen stabilen pH-Wert in biologischen Systemen aufrechtzuerhalten, insbesondere im physiologischen Bereich. Es wird häufig bei der Vorbereitung von Pufferlösungen für die Elektrophorese und andere Labortechniken verwendet. Tris ist ungiftig und hat eine niedrige Flüchtigkeit, was zu seiner weit verbreiteten Verwendung in Forschungseinrichtungen beiträgt.
