Kupfersulfat, mit der CAS-Nummer 7758-98-7, ist eine anorganische Verbindung, die als blauer Kristallfeststoff erscheint und allgemein für ihre lebendige Farbe bekannt ist. Sie besteht aus Kupfer, Schwefel und Sauerstoff, mit der chemischen Formel CuSO₄. Diese Verbindung ist hochgradig wasserlöslich und bildet eine blaue Lösung und ist hygroskopisch, was bedeutet, dass sie Feuchtigkeit aus der Luft aufnehmen kann. Copper sulfate is a salt of copper and sulfuric acid. It is used as an antibiotic in the treatment of bacterial infections, although it does not exhibit a bactericidal effect.
