CAS:3-Methoxy-5-nitrobenzoic acid is an organic compound that has mesomorphic and switchable properties. It is a chalcone derivative, with homologues such as 3-hydroxybenzoic acid. It is synthesized from the reaction of nitrous acid and 3-methoxybenzoic acid. The synthesis of this compound can be achieved by two different routes: peroxide oxidation or fluorine substitution.
