Applications α-Methacrylic acid is used in chemistry as a stabilizing agent, forming a thin capping layer on the surface of nanoparticles. α-Methacrylic acid is also used as a surfactant, so that control is maintained during nanocrystal growth. α-Methacrylic acid is also used as a chelating agent.
