CAS:Kontrolliertes Produkt6β-Hydrocodol is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the class of drugs called prostaglandin analogues. It is structurally related to dihydrocodeine and is used for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, including pain from arthritis, gout, and dental pain. 6β-Hydrocodol has been shown to have a low bioavailability in humans and may be due to its chemical instability or binding with serum proteins. This drug has been shown to bind to κ-opioid receptors, which are located on peripheral sensory nerve cells and inhibit the release of neurotransmitters such as substance P. 6β-Hydrocodol has also been shown in vivo in mice studies to stimulate lymphocyte transformation and can be used for diagnosis of infectious diseases.
