Prodelphinidin B2 is an active substance found in the sclera of the eye. It has been shown to inhibit proliferation in prostate cancer cells and to regulate cell signaling pathways that are involved in the inflammatory response. Prodelphinidin B2 also inhibits acetylcholinesterase and may be used as a dietary supplement or ophthalmic drug. Prodelphinidin B2 is thought to be a potent inhibitor of fatty acid synthesis, which may have anti-cancer properties. The inhibition of fatty acid synthesis by prodelphinidin B2 may also have therapeutic benefits for cardiovascular diseases, obesity, or diabetes.
