Mandelsäure, mit der CAS-Nummer 90-64-2, ist eine aromatische Alpha-Hydroxysäure, die durch ihr weißes kristallines Aussehen und einen leicht süßlichen Geruch gekennzeichnet ist. Sie ist in Wasser, Alkohol und Ether löslich, was ihre Nützlichkeit in verschiedenen Anwendungen erhöht.
