Beschreibung:
Sorbitanmonooctadecanoat, Derivate von Poly(oxy-1,2-ethandiol), allgemein bekannt als Polysorbate 80, ist ein nichtionischer Tensid und Emulgator, der häufig in Lebensmitteln, Pharmazeutika und Kosmetika verwendet wird. Es wird aus Sorbitan, einem Zuckeralkohol, und Octadecanoinsäure (Stearinsäure) abgeleitet, wobei Poly(oxy-1,2-ethandiol)-Ketten hydrophile Eigenschaften verleihen. Diese Verbindung zeichnet sich durch ihre Fähigkeit aus, die Oberflächenspannung zu reduzieren, was die Stabilisierung von Emulsionen und die Solubilisierung von hydrophoben Substanzen in wässrigen Lösungen ermöglicht.
