Beschreibung:
Chitosan ist ein Biopolymer, das aus Chitin gewonnen wird, das in den Exoskeletten von Krebstieren wie Garnelen und Krabben vorkommt. Es zeichnet sich durch sein weißes bis schmutzig-weißes Pulver aus und ist in sauren Lösungen löslich, was es von seinem Vorläufer, Chitin, unterscheidet, das in Wasser unlöslich ist. Chitosan weist mehrere bemerkenswerte Eigenschaften auf, darunter Biokompatibilität, biologischen Abbaubarkeit und Nicht-Toxizität, die es für verschiedene Anwendungen in der Medizin, Landwirtschaft und Lebensmittelindustrie geeignet machen.
