CAS:4-Chlororesorcinol is a chemical compound that has been shown to have antimicrobial properties. It inhibits the growth of bacteria by reacting with tyrosinase and other enzymes that are important for the synthesis of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin, hair, and eye color. 4-Chlororesorcinol also reacts with protocatechuic acid to form chlorprotocatecholic acid and other products.
