Omeprazol-Natrium ist ein Protonenpumpenhemmer (PPI), der hauptsächlich zur Behandlung von Erkrankungen wie der gastroösophagealen Refluxkrankheit (GERD) und peptischen Geschwüren eingesetzt wird, indem er die Magensäuresekretion reduziert. Es handelt sich um eine Natriumsalzform von Omeprazol, das ein substituiertes Benzimidazol ist. Die Verbindung zeichnet sich typischerweise durch ihr weißes bis schmutzig-weißes kristallines Pulver aus und ist in Wasser löslich, was sie für orale Formulierungen geeignet macht.
