Ethylketon, auch bekannt als 3-Pentanone, ist eine farblose, brennbare Flüssigkeit mit einem süßen, fruchtigen Geruch. Es wird als Keton klassifiziert, das durch das Vorhandensein einer Carbonylgruppe (C=O) gekennzeichnet ist, die von zwei Kohlenstoffatomen flankiert wird.
