Suc-AAA-pNA, a readily soluble and sensitive substrate for human and rat neutrophil and porcine pancreatic elastases. The trialanine substrate is also hydrolyzed by proteinase K, subtilisins and thermitase as well as by astacin, a crayfish zinc-endopeptidase.
