Beschreibung:Similar to heparin, located in the extracellular matrix, the glycosaminoglycan of heparan plays important physiological roles in anticoagulation and angiogenesis. The acidic polysaccharide of heparan consists of a heterogeneous disaccharide repeating unit of hexosamine and uronic acid (L-iduronic or D-glucuronic acid) connected through 1-4 linkages and modified with various functional groups. Sulfated regions of heparan sulfate are interspaced with less or non-sulfated regions but heparin sulfate contains no non-sulfated regions.
