Beschreibung

Calcium acetate is a salt that has been used in the treatment of nephrology dialysis, as well as for hematopoietic and bone-related conditions. It has been shown to be effective in treating patients with chronic renal failure by increasing their glomerular filtration rate and reducing the need for hemodialysis. Calcium acetate also stimulates the production of il-2 receptor, which helps to regulate the immune system and decrease inflammation. This salt can be used as an alternative to sevelamer, which is a drug that binds to calcium ions, preventing them from accumulating in the body and causing kidney stones. The therapeutic potential of calcium acetate was first recognized when it was found to have growth factor properties. Double-blind cross-over studies have shown that this salt increases hemoglobin levels while decreasing inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α.
