Diphemanil Methylsulfate is used as a diagnostic agent for the identification of metabolic disorders. It is also used to treat autoimmune diseases, cancer, and other inflammatory conditions. Diphemanil Methylsulfate inhibits acetylcholine release by binding to cholinergic receptors in the bronchial muscles and other areas of the body. This drug has anticholinergic effects that reduce secretions in the respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract. Diphemanil Methylsulfate may also be used for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to this drug, such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae. The effective dose is dependent on whether it is being used as an intravenous or oral medication.
