Beschreibung

Dienestrol diacetate is a synthetic estrogen that is used to treat menopausal symptoms, including hot flashes. It has been shown to increase the metabolic rate and reduce hepatic steatosis in rats. This drug also has a significant interaction with other drugs such as oral contraceptives and corticosteroids, which may lead to increased plasma protein levels. Dienestrol diacetate binds to albumin and casein in the blood, which may result in decreased absorption of fat-soluble drugs. The drug is metabolized by hydrolysis into dienoic acid, which can be excreted through the urine or bile. The excretion of dienoic acid through the bile may result in an inhibitory effect on dry weight or growth regulators such as insulin. Dienestrol diacetate is not active against bacteria but does have a strong inhibitory effect on some fungi such as Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger.
