Beschreibung

Ethyl 5-oxo-1-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylate (EOPC) is a chemical intermediate. It is produced by the condensation of diethyl oxalate and ethyl acetate in the presence of hydrazine. EOPC is a colorless liquid that has an odor similar to that of benzaldehyde. The compound has been shown to inhibit the growth of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. EOPC may also have antiinflammatory properties.
