Beschreibung

Dimethyl dihydroxyfumarate is a molecule that has a cross-linking mechanism. It is an active substance for the treatment of haemorrhagic diseases and cardiac diseases. Dimethyl dihydroxyfumarate can be used to treat hemorrhagic fever outbreaks, such as Ebola and Marburg virus infections. This drug can also be used to treat influenza A virus infection, which is the most common cause of severe respiratory illness in humans. The molecular structure of dimethyl dihydroxyfumarate consists of a hydroxy group and a methylene group with two hydrogen bonds between them. The hydroxy group is responsible for the anti-inflammatory effects of this drug. Dimethyl dihydroxyfumarate also binds to penicillin-binding proteins, preventing bacteria from producing proteins essential for their reproduction.
