Beschreibung

Butyl oleate is a reactive, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is used in the treatment of pain, inflammation, and fever. It is a byproduct of the reaction between butanol and calcium stearate. Butyl oleate has been found to have lipolytic activity and can be used as a immobilizing agent for the removal of pollutants from wastewater. Butyl oleate also has kinetic data that indicate it is an irreversible inhibitor of picolinic acid carboxylesterase. The reactivity of butyl oleate was tested in the presence of various solvents and its solubility was determined using gravimetric analysis. The hydroxyl group in butyl oleate makes this compound water-reactive.
