Beschreibung

2-(Beta-hydroxyphenethylamino)pyridine hydrochloride is a drug that belongs to the class of antimicrobial agents. It has been shown to be active against bacteria and fungi, and has been used in the treatment of bowel disease. 2-(Beta-hydroxyphenethylamino)pyridine hydrochloride is also used as an antiretroviral agent in combination with other drugs. It inhibits viral replication by binding to the reverse transcriptase enzyme and interfering with its function. The drug also inhibits mitochondrial functions and congestive heart failure, as well as interacting with other drugs metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and enzymes. This compound is water soluble, biocompatible, non-immunogenic and does not aggregate or precipitate at high concentrations.
