Beschreibung:4,4'-Dinitrobibenzyl is an organic compound that can be used as a hydrogen peroxide donor. It reacts with nitrobenzylphosphonate to form 4-nitrobenzylphosphonic acid and 4,4'-dinitrobibenzyl peroxide. The reactions are reversible and the decomposition of 4,4'-dinitrobibenzyl peroxide can be catalyzed by chlorine or inorganic peroxide. The product of this reaction is orthophosphoric acid with a chlorine substituent. This compound also has the ability to transfer one electron from an organic molecule to another organic molecule. It can be used as a diluent for hydrogen peroxide solutions at temperatures below 100°C.
