2-Azatricyclo[3.3.1.1,3,7]decane is a potent antitumor agent that has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of mammalian cells. It is also known to induce apoptosis and inhibit the formation of reactive oxygen species. 2-Azatricyclo[3.3.1.1,3,7]decane's mechanism of action is not fully understood; however it is thought that this drug may react with carboxylates in the cell membrane, thereby inhibiting its function and leading to cell death by apoptosis.
