Beschreibung

1,4-dipropyl butanedioate (DPB) is a solid catalyst that is used for the preparation of food additives. It can be prepared by reacting dipropyl ether with hydrochloric acid. This reaction has been shown to proceed in a constant temperature and at an optimal reaction rate. The product is then purified by chromatographic methods and detected by mass spectrometry. DPB was found to react with organic acids as well as growth regulators, such as polycarboxylic acid, to form esters and fatty acid esters. This process also requires the use of an organic solvent, such as acetic acid or methyl acetate. The final product is characterized by its high boiling point due to the hydrogen fluoride content.
