It has also been shown to be an effective solid catalyst for the synthesis of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid from hydrogen fluoride and sulfur trioxide. 1,1,1,3,3,3-Hexaethyldisiloxane has been found to have a beneficial effect on hematopoietic cells in mice when administered at low doses by intraperitoneal injection or intravenously.
