Beschreibung

2-(3-Methyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-yl)pyridine is a cytotoxic compound that can be used to induce cell death. It binds to cisplatin, forming a covalent bond with the sulfur atom of the ligand. This process results in DNA crosslinking and inhibition of RNA synthesis. The compound can also be used as a radioprotective agent. 2-(3-Methyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-yl)pyridine has been shown to have antihemolytic properties and is not toxic to human cells at low concentrations.
