• Beschreibung: Ribostamycin is a potent antibiotic that belongs to the aminoglycoside class. It inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit and inhibiting protein synthesis. Ribostamycin has been shown to have significant antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, and Enterococcus faecalis. Ribostamycin also has been shown to be effective against Gram-negative bacteria, such as Haemophilus influenzae and Neisseria meningitidis. Ribostamycin is not active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis or Mycobacterium avium complex. Ribostamycin is used in the treatment of infectious diseases caused by susceptible organisms. This drug binds to the ribosomes of susceptible organisms and inhibits their protein synthesis by inhibiting the formation of an enzyme form with sephadex g-100.
