Beschreibung

2'-Acetylneriifolin is a cardiac glycoside that has been shown to have anticancer activity. It inhibits the activity of histone deacetylases (HDACs) and thereby prevents the formation of acetylated histones, which are needed for transcriptional repression of genes. 2'-Acetylneriifolin also has antiviral activities that are related to its ability to inhibit the influenza virus by preventing viral replication in infected cells. 2'-Acetylneriifolin has been shown to be effective against human epidermoid carcinoma cells in vitro and is used as an anticancer agent in vivo.
