Beschreibung

Lasalocid is an ionophore antibiotic that can be used as a wastewater treatment agent. It binds to the bacterial cell membrane and inhibits the flow of ions through it, disrupting the cell's energy metabolism. Lasalocid has been shown to have cardiac effects in experimental models. This drug is also used as an experimental model for studying enzyme activities and reaction solution.
Lasalocid is a polyether antibiotic produced by Quillaja saponaria, which has been found to have antibacterial properties. The mechanism of action of lasalocid is not well understood but may involve inhibition of protein synthesis in bacteria or interference with cellular metabolism.
