2,3,4,6,11,11a-Hexahydro-1H-pyrazino[1,2-b]isoquinoline is an isoquinoline compound that inhibits phosphodiesterase. It is a selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type 4 (PDE4) and has been shown to inhibit the enzymatic activity of PDE4 in the rat brain. This inhibition leads to increased levels of cAMP and cGMP in the brain which are important for neurotransmission and other cellular processes.
