It has been shown to have high enantioselectivities and high efficiency in the synthesis of glycine, as well as efficient asymmetric syntheses of aldehydes. This compound is an efficient organocatalyst for the stereocontrolled cyclization of acetaldehyde to produce enantiopure 1,4-dioxanones.
