Beschreibung:2-Ethenyl-2,5-dimethylhex-4-en-1-ol is a conformationally restricted analog of flecainide. It has been shown to have an antipyrine-like activity in the rat and is a potential antineoplastic drug for use in women with breast cancer. 2EMHE has also been shown to have long term effects on serum levels in infants and children. It is metabolized by CYP3A4, which may be blocked by drugs such as erythromycin or ketoconazole. The metabolism of 2EMHE leads to the formation of hydroxylamines that are reactive with nucleophilic sites on DNA, causing strand breaks and inhibition of DNA synthesis. This drug also inhibits neutrophil chemotaxis in vitro and causes neutropenia when given intravenously to rats.
