• Beschreibung: Nirtetralin is a lignan with an inhibitory effect on the binding of receptor to its ligand, which is found in plants such as phyllanthus and niranthin. It has been shown to have potent inhibition of insulin resistance in K562 cells, an effect that may be due to changes in mitochondrial membrane potential. Nirtetralin also inhibits the ATPase activity of hexane-insensitive, liver-type pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase, which is involved in the regulation of hepatic glucose production and lipid metabolism. Nirtetralin has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and lipopolysacharide (LPS) induced nitric oxide production from macrophages.
