4,7-Dibromoquinoline is a nucleotide that is used in the treatment of patients with HIV. It inhibits viral replication by interfering with the function of the ribonucleic acid (RNA) polymerase. 4,7-Dibromoquinoline binds to RNA polymerase and blocks its ability to initiate transcription by preventing the binding of RNA to DNA templates.
