Beschreibung

Faropenem sodium hemipentahydrate is an oral cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. It has been shown to be effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, with a low risk of resistance development. Faropenem sodium has demonstrated antimicrobial efficacy in experimental models, although it is not active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The drug is not for use in patients with severe hepatic impairment or those who are hypersensitive to penicillins. Faropenem sodium is not recommended for use in children under two years of age due to the risk of bone marrow suppression.
