Beschreibung

Finafloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which maintain the integrity of bacterial DNA. It binds to bacterial 16S ribosomal RNA and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to cell death by inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. Finafloxacin has been shown to be clinically effective against microbial infections and has a safety profile similar to other fluoroquinolones. Finafloxacin is active against bacteria with a neutral pH and can be used in acidic environments such as urinary tract infections. It has been shown to be safe for use in patients with renal dysfunction and may be used for the treatment of chronic bronchitis in adults.
